Women in Wide Bandgap @ APWS2026

The 12th Asia-Pacific Workshop on Widegap Semiconductors (APWS 2026) will be held in Xian,  China, from October 11 to 15, 2026.

APWS 2026 will host “Women in Wide Bandgap,” an afternoon tea networking event, on October 13, 14:00–18:05. This event offers a relaxed and inclusive platform for the wide-bandgap semiconductor community—covering GaN, SiC, Ga?O?, diamond, AlN, and related materials and devices—to connect, exchange ideas, and expand professional networks. A panel discussion with established and experienced researchers will address diversity, inclusion, mentorship, leadership, and career development, aiming to inspire scientific and professional growth in wide-bandgap research. Participants from academia and industry are warmly welcome.

*All APWS2026 participants can attend without additional charge.

Afternoon tea refreshments, including tea, coffee, and light snacks, will be provided.

Welcome Message

The 12th Asia-Pacific Workshop on Widegap Semiconductors (APWS 2026) will be held in Xian,  China, from October 11 to 15, 2026.

The  eleven  previous workshops were held in Awajishima, Japan (APWS 2003), Hsinchu, Taiwan (APWS 2005), Jeonju, Korea (APWS 2007), Zhangjiajie, China (APWS 2009), Toba, Japan (APWS 2011), New Taipei, Taiwan (APWS 2013), Seoul, Korea (APWS 2015), Qingdao, China (APWS 2017), Okinawa, Japan(APWS 2019), Taoyuan, Taiwan(APWS 2022), and Busan, Korea（APWS 2024）.

A lot of researchers from the Asia and Pacific region will join those from other parts of the world in stimulating discussions on widegap and ultra-widegap semiconductors such as III-nitrides, Silicon Carbides, Gallium Oxides, Diamonds, and h-BNs etc.

APWS 2026 consists of plenary sessions and a series of parallel oral sessions that include keynote, invited and contributed talks, as well as poster sessions, an excursion, a banquet, and industrial exhibitions.

The conference will be held in Xi'an. As an ancient capital of thirteen dynasties, Xi'an's profound cultural heritage and beautiful urban environment will provide unique support for academic exchange and leave a lasting impression on all participants.
